Today marks day
four five (by the time I finally post this) of my Spring Break adventures in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Yes, yet again I am spending another break in The Fort and this time around I helped Jacob clean out his years worth of engineering papers. It was a blast, let me tell you.
While the boyfriend was in class from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m, my butt sat at home redoing the layout of the blog and binging on a fruit bowl I bought at Publix. Lately, my medicine has been making me less and less hungry throughout the day. However, I now savor any appetite I do have and indulge in a full plate when I have the chance.
After Jacob’s class, we sat around for a while before going out for dinner. During those two-to-three hours, I threw a full blown temper tantrum because someone wouldn’t go to the P.O.D. Market and get me a bag white cheddar Smartpop popcorn.
Mature, I know.
We had my favorite SoCal Mexican for dinner — Oscar’s Taco Shop. I switched it up from my usual fish tacos and tried their steak fajitas. Aside from their guac that I’m not super crazy about, everything else was absolutely delicious. It’s fresh made, to order and reasonably priced for a quick dine-in meal.
We popped over to Insomnia Cookies for a sweet treat that I had been craving since the last time I was in Knoxville last spring. I’ll admit, I went a little sugar crazy and got the “Sugar Rush” box of 12 assorted cookies. I picked three of each — peanut butter, chocolate chunk, M&M and sugar. Once home, I instantly dove straight into the box for pictures of the beauties. Can you blame me?
My personal favorite was the peanut butter, but I’m also the type of person who gets sick from eating warm chocolate chip cookies right out of the oven. Jacob capped his sugar quota after one cookie. Like I said, the “Sugar Rush” was probably overshooting it by like six cookies (as Jacob had suggested in the first place).
Tomorrow, I’m planning to have said boyfriend bring me to Downtown, where I can go get some cold-pressed juices from a local juicery. Pictures and the like on those later.
For now, it’s time for sleep. Well, for me at least. Jacob is still doing finite element analysis homework.
